Year 9 Options 2021

In Key Stage 4, we provide an ambitious and inclusive curriculum that prepares pupils for a variety of post-16 opportunities and which enables them all to develop the skills that are required by employers, colleges, universities and not least, for life-long learning.

We aim to deliver a personalised curriculum for every child that is tailored to their abilities and interests, talents and needs. The Individual Learning Pathway that each pupil is given is carefully produced to give each child a curriculum that is challenging, broad and allows them to achieve their full potential.

In each pathway there is a ‘core curriculum’ of compulsory subjects and a wide range of additional subjects that pupils can choose from. All pupils have the opportunity to study an academic curriculum and achieve the English Baccalaureate. Within the Options subjects there are a variety of GCSEs and technical qualifications that offer breadth to match pupils' interests and aspirations.

The Options Process

The Options process will take place during the second half of the Spring Term:

w/b 1st March

Options Booklets and Information sent out to pupils

Options Evening - Thursday 18th March

Pupils and parents will have opportunity to ask subject leaders about option subjects remotely using SchoolCloud.

Friday 26th March

Pupils will have submitted their options choices via Microsoft Forms.
