I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our pupils and staff back to Hillside after the half term break, I hope everyone has had a wonderful week and that they found time to rest.
On Wednesday and Thursday this week we welcome Mark Williams and his team of inspectors from Ofsted, this will be the second of our monitoring visits. We are very proud of our pupils and their achievements, and I am confident Mark and his team will see the improvements we have made over the last few months.
The Department of Education have recently published their league tables. Our record breaking results of 2013, with 53% of pupils achieving 5 A*-C GCSEs including English and maths, were the best results for any school in South Sefton and North Liverpool. These results are a credit to the wonderful pupils who left us last summer and the hard work and determination of all the staff here at Hillside.
I have no doubt that our Year 11 pupils this year are on track to achieve even better results in the summer. Whenever I speak to them I set them the challenge of becoming the next record breaking year group to leave Hillside.
We do still have some Year 7 places available for September 2014. If anyone would like to visit Hillside to have a tour of our wonderful school and to find out more about what we do, please do not hesitate to contact me.
