Principal's Welcome

Mrs A Ryan - Principal

As Principal I am both proud and delighted to welcome you to Hillside High School. Having children of my own, I appreciate that choosing the right secondary school for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make and by reading this prospectus, and visiting the school, I hope that you will see why I believe that Hillside High School is the best choice.

The whole team of staff at Hillside is committed to making the best choices for our pupils and to putting them at the fore of everything that we do. Our pupils get one chance at their education and we are determined that they get the very best that we can give.

We strive for the highest possible levels of achievement for all of our pupils. We set the highest standards and will accept only the highest effort and conduct from our pupils. Young people thrive at Hillside and are courteous, friendly and extremely happy during their time at the school.
Hillside High School has been helping the young people of Bootle realise their academic potential and providing them with the skills and values they need for life’s journey since 1932 when the school was founded as the Bootle Girls’ Grammar School.

We are proud of our place at the centre of the community and want our pupils to leave us as outward-looking and forward-thinking young men and women, ready to take their place in society. We believe in the power and value of education to change lives and change the world.

Hillside High School does indeed have a long and distinguished history but we strongly believe an even more exciting future lies ahead and we hope you’ll be part of it.

Mrs A Ryan
Principal
