Our Curriculum Implementation plan outlines how we deliver the education set out in our Curriculum Intent. As a school we have carefully considered the choices we have made in teacher pedagogy to ensure pupils are receiving the highest quality lessons. We recognise the importance balance to ensuring some consistency in approach across curriculum areas, we this helps pupils to develop metacognitive skills. However, this must be balanced with the discrete disciplinary needs of each subject area.
Our Curriculum Implementation is driven by our Hillside Core 5. A set of 5 core principles that we expect all staff to embed into their planning and delivery and all pupils to engage fully with. As a staff team we invest much of our time to professional learning, this includes teachers and support staff working together to improve and refine the delivery of the Hillside Core 5. We also invest time teaching our pupils the meaning of learning and why the Hillside Core 5 principles are important for them.
