Punctuality for School - Important Change

Being punctual for school is essential for many reasons.

Pupils that are late for school:

- miss essential information in assembly and form time.

- miss learning at the start of lessons which leads to gaps in knowledge and misconceptions.

-disturb other learners and the teacher delivering the lesson.

The vast majority of pupils arrive at school with plenty of time to spare, however there are a number of persistent late arrivers that are disrupting the smooth running of the school.

From Monday 13th March:

Pupils that arrive to school after 8.45am will continue to enter through the front doors of school.

They will have their mark taken and they will be informed that they have a late detention that night for 30 minutes.

The late detention will be held in Room 22 and pupils will have meaningful work to complete to make up for the lost learning of their late arrival.

Parents will be informed of the same day detention by text / MyEd App.

Pupils that miss the same day detention will be placed on detention for 60 minutes on the Friday of that week.

Thank you for your support with this.
