Year 11 Walk and Talk Exam Support Sessions Underway

We are delighted to inform parents that our current Year 11 pupils have now begun engaging in Walk and Talk exam preparation sessions as part of their GCSE revision programme.

These sessions are delivered in a lecture-style format in the Drama Hall and focus on guided practice of exam questions. Staff work alongside pupils to break down questions, unpick command words and model high-quality responses, while providing targeted, subject-specific support. The sessions are designed to strengthen exam technique, build confidence and ensure pupils fully understand what examiners are looking for in their answers.

Having run Walk and Talk sessions over the past two years, the impact on pupil outcomes has been consistent and overwhelmingly positive. Pupils who engaged fully with all sessions saw, on average, an increase of 8 marks per exam paper, in some cases equating to an improvement of up to a full grade, between P2S3 and their final GCSE results.

We strongly encourage all Year 11 pupils to attend these sessions regularly, as evidence shows they play a key role in securing improved outcomes in the final examinations. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our pupils achieve their very best.
